Borderlands 4: New Vault Hunter Loveless, Story Pack 2, and Level Cap 70 Are Now Live

Borderlands 4 just got its biggest content drop since launch. On September 10, 2026, Gearbox Software and 2K released Story Pack 2: FL4K and the Last Resort, Bounty Pack 5: Amara and the Vile Shadows, and a brand new playable Vault Hunter, all backed by the free Version 1.10 update available to every player on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. Story Pack 2 Brings FL4K Back to Hunt a Missing Skag

The headline paid content is Story Pack 2: FL4K and the Last Resort, which sees the Borderlands 3 beastmaster return to search for their missing skag companion, Mr. Chew. The hunt takes players to Providence, a new tropical island built around a volcano base, where Tediore has launched a covert invasion. The map leans heavily into verticality, with zipline traversal weaving between combat arenas, Digiverse upload activities that spawn waves of enemies before major fights, and dynamic world events tied to Ordonite-infused lava flows. Story Pack 2 adds new main and side missions along with a fresh cast of Tediore enemies, including exo-suited soldiers, mechs with swappable weapon attachments, and five elite managers led by Lieutenant Harmony. Clearing it all out rewards players with two new Pearlescent weapons and eighteen Legendary items.

Meet Loveless the Hacker, Borderlands 4’s Second DLC Vault Hunter

Alongside the story content, September 10 also marked the arrival of Loveless the Hacker, the second and final paid Vault Hunter planned for Borderlands 4. According to 2K’s official description, Loveless is a former Anshin hacker turned assassin who wields some of the setting’s most advanced cybernetics and shares her mind with a digital virus of her own creation, which can digistruct into a physical form. Her kit revolves around three Action Skills, Malignant Construct, Visual Paradox Nexus, and Plague Star, all built around turning that virus into a weapon. Loveless is sold separately from Story Pack 2, so players can pick up whichever piece of the update fits their plans.

Bounty Pack 5 Sends Amara Chasing Vile Shadows

Siren fans get their own slice of new content with Bounty Pack 5: Amara and the Vile Shadows. It centers on a new repeatable mission that pulls players into the Phase dimension to dig deeper into Siren lore, pitting them against a new boss, two mini-bosses, and a set of previously unseen Vile-type enemies. Finishing the bounty hands out a Pearlescent weapon, six Legendary items, cosmetics, a vehicle skin, and a drone skin. The pack also comes with its own Vault Card 5, which unlocks 24 additional cosmetics and four rerollable gear pieces as players level it up.

Bounty Pack 5 pulls Amara into the Phase dimension to take on a new boss and a wave of Vile-type enemies.

Free for Everyone: Version 1.10 Raises the Level Cap to 70

Players who skip both paid packs still get plenty out of September 10’s Version 1.10 update, which is free for all Borderlands 4 owners. The headline change is another ten-level bump to the level cap, pushing it from 60 up to 70 after an earlier 2026 update had already raised it from 50. The patch also promises broader build flexibility across every Vault Hunter’s skill trees, and on consoles, Story Pack 1 and Bounty Pack 2 are now available to buy individually instead of only as part of larger bundles, a welcome change for anyone who wants to pick and choose their DLC instead of buying it all at once.
