Meet Every Vault Hunter in Borderlands 4: Vex, Rafa, Amon, Harlowe, C4SH, and Loveless

Borderlands 4 launched with four playable Vault Hunters, but the roster on Kairos hasn’t stopped growing since. Two paid DLC characters, C4SH the Rogue and Loveless the Hacker, have since joined Vex, Rafa, Amon and Harlowe, bringing the total to six wildly different ways to shoot, loot and cause chaos. Whether you’re picking your first Vault Hunter or deciding which DLC character is worth the extra cash, here’s the complete rundown of everyone currently roaming Kairos.

1. Vex the Siren: The Elemental Queen with a Ghostly Sidekick

Vex is the Siren of the group, channeling supernatural Phase Energy to summon ghostly minions, including her spectral feline familiar, Trouble.
Her passive, Phase Covenant, ties her Action Skill and melee damage to whatever elemental type she has equipped, so her whole kit shifts between fire, shock and cryo depending on her loadout.
It’s a playstyle built around adapting on the fly rather than locking into one damage type for the whole run.

• Key Abilities:
  • Incarnate: Triggers a Phase Explosion, restores health, and lets Vex fire Eldritch Blasts for extra damage.
  • Phase Phamiliar: Summons Trouble to maul enemies, with augments like Blink Strike for critical hits or Violent Outburst for explosive minion mayhem.
  • Skill Trees: Focus on movement speed, damage reduction and elemental auras.

2. Rafa the Exo-Soldier: The Runaway With a High-Tech Arsenal

Rafa is the Exo-Soldier of the crew, born in microgravity with a skeleton that can’t handle normal gravity, which is why he lives inside an experimental exo-suit while dodging Tediore’s hit squads.
His kit leans on versatility, with auto-turrets and his signature Arc Knives for close-quarters melee.
If you liked Roland or Axton in the older games, Rafa is the closest thing Borderlands 4 has to that classic soldier playstyle.

• Key Abilities:
  • Arc Knives: A devastating melee attack powered by his exo-suit, perfect for close-quarters chaos.
  • Auto-turrets and digistructed weapons that make him a one-man army.
  • Skill Trees: Three branching paths built around balanced, customizable soldier builds.

3. Amon the Forgeknight: The Vault Monster Slayer with a Grudge

Amon grew up in a cult that worshipped a Vault Monster, survived its inevitable betrayal, and now spends his time smashing anything with too many tentacles.
He’s the melee tank of the roster, wielding massive weapons like axes and sprinting into the middle of a fight instead of away from it.
If tanking means punching things until they stop moving, Amon is built exactly for that.

• Key Abilities:
  • Close-quarters melee focus, with heavy attacks built to hit like a freight train.
  • Crowd-control and high-damage Action Skills geared toward getting up close.
  • Skill Trees: Three paths for customizing his brawler playstyle.

4. Harlowe the Gravitar: The Brainy Badass with a Cryo Fetish

Harlowe walked away from a corporate lab job at Maliwan to become a battlefield scientist instead, and it shows in her kit.
She leans on crowd control and area-of-effect destruction, mixing Cryo and Radiation damage while her Entanglement trait makes enemies share damage with each other.
Between trapping foes in zero-gravity bubbles and buffing allies with a Flux Generator, she’s less a straightforward damage dealer and more a support-DPS hybrid.

• Key Abilities:
  • CHROMA Accelerator: Fires an Unstable Energy Pocket for Cryo damage that detonates into a Radiation explosion.
  • Zero-Point: Traps enemies in a Stasis bubble, turning them into easy targets or living bombs.
  • Flux Generator: Freezes enemies while buffing allies with Overshield in an Energy Field.
  • Skill Trees: Focus on Cryo/Radiation damage, shielding and crowd control.

5. C4SH the Rogue: The Gambling Bot Who Bet Everything on Vault Hunting

The first DLC Vault Hunter, C4SH the Rogue, arrived alongside Story Pack 1: Mad Ellie and the Vault of the Damned on March 26, 2026.
He’s a CasinoBot who won a magical deck of eldritch cards in a high-stakes game, and those cards now imbue him with unpredictable powers he’s decided to point at Vault Hunting instead of poker night.
According to PlayStation, C4SH plays like “a devil-may-care gambler, bending luck in your favor to overcome any odds,” and his three skill trees back that up with three completely different fantasies: dice-based totems, card-based spellcasting, and dual-wielded revolver gunplay.

• Key Abilities:
  • Cleromancy: Rolls supernatural Bone Dice to summon a Bone Totem, with the totem’s effect changing based on the roll.
  • Sleight of Hand: Draws cards from a randomized deck and throws them as magical projectiles, including a Fireball card and a homing Magic Missile card.
  • Cross-Fire: Swaps to a third-person view and dual-wields revolvers, with ricochet shots and a melee knockback attack.
  • Skill Trees: Roll the Bones (totems and Jinx debuffs), Luck of the Draw (Fortune stacks and elemental damage) and Chaos Walking (Cross-Fire, fire rate and movement).

C4SH is basically what happens when a slot machine gains sentience and decides guns are more fun than jackpots.
He’s sold separately from Story Pack 1, so you can pick him up without buying the story content attached to him.

6. Loveless the Hacker: The Vault Hunter Who Brought Her Own Wingman

Loveless the Hacker is the second and final DLC Vault Hunter, arriving alongside Story Pack 2: FL4K and the Last Resort on September 10, 2026.
A former Anshin hacker turned assassin, she carries some of the game’s most advanced cybernetics and, more unsettlingly, “shares her mind with a digital virus of her own creation,” which can digistruct into a physical form and fight alongside her.
Between the stealth tech, the pet AI and the status-effect chaos, she’s built for players who want three very different power fantasies crammed into one Vault Hunter.

• Key Abilities:
  • Plague Star: A corrosive shuriken that pierces enemies, inflicts a spreading Contagion effect, and detonates every active infection at once.
  • Visual Paradox Nexus: Boosts movement speed and critical damage, spawns a clone on every kill, and lets her keep shooting from stealth without breaking it.
  • Malignant Construct: Summons a Wyrm AI companion that can be teleported into enemies for a radiation nova or unleashed for a breath attack.
  • Skill Trees: Virology (status spreading), Hack/Slash (stealth and clones) and Manifestation (Wyrm companion).

Loveless is what happens when a hacker gets so good at her job that her side project starts fighting for her.

Which Vault Hunter Should You Pick?

If you want a straightforward starting point, Vex, Rafa, Amon and Harlowe cover the classic caster, soldier, melee tank and support archetypes, and all four come with the base game.
Once you’ve got a feel for the game, C4SH is the pick for anyone who likes controlled chaos and randomness they can lean into, while Loveless suits players who want to mix stealth, a pet and status effects in one kit.
