Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor and Shadow of War Are Coming to Nintendo Switch 2
Aspyr Media has announced the Middle-earth: Shadow Bundle, bringing both Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor and Middle-earth: Shadow of War to Nintendo Switch 2 on September 30, 2026. The bundle packs the Game of the Year Edition of Shadow of Mordor and the Definitive Edition of Shadow of War, giving Switch 2 owners their first shot at Monolith Productions’ Nemesis System on Nintendo hardware, complete with every story expansion and piece of DLC released for either game.
What’s Included in Each Edition
Shadow of Mordor’s Game of the Year Edition rolls in the “Lord of the Hunt” and “The Bright Lord” campaign expansions, the Guardians of the Flaming Eye warband mission, and a collection of bonus missions, runes, and character skins. Shadow of War’s Definitive Edition goes further, bundling the “Desolation of Mordor” and “Blade of Galadriel” story expansions alongside the Slaughter Tribe and Outlaw Tribe nemesis expansions, plus the Sword of Dominion bonus weapon.
Pricing and Release Date
Both games launch on Nintendo Switch 2 on September 30. The Shadow Bundle is priced at $69.99, discounted to $34.99 for a limited time, though outlets differ on exactly how long that price holds: Nintendo Life and some retail listings put the window at through October 6, while other outlets describe it as a launch-day-only deal. Buying separately, Shadow of Mordor GOTY Edition runs $19.99 (discounted to $9.99), and Shadow of War Definitive Edition is $49.99 (discounted to $24.99). Shadow of War’s Switch 2 download comes in at roughly 73GB, while Shadow of Mordor’s listed file size still appears to be placeholder data on the eShop.

Shadow of War’s Definitive Edition brings the full Nemesis System, along with every story and nemesis expansion, to Nintendo Switch 2.
What Changes on Switch 2
The Switch 2 port of Shadow of War is built around offline play. Its online-only features, including Conquests, Vendettas, Fight Pits, and Training orders, aren’t available on this version, with Aspyr instead optimizing the garrison system for solo play. Shadow of Mordor doesn’t carry the same online-dependent modes, so its Switch 2 version is closer to a straightforward port of the GOTY release.
A Fitting Reveal Date
Aspyr’s reveal post went out on September 22, headlined “Happy Hobbit Day”, a nod to Frodo and Bilbo Baggins’ shared birthday in Tolkien lore. Both games were originally developed by Monolith Productions and published by Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment, with Aspyr handling this Switch 2 release under license. Shadow of Mordor won more than 50 Game of the Year and Best Action Game awards following its 2014 release, and Shadow of War expanded the Nemesis System further in 2017 before both were left without a Nintendo home until now.
