Coyote vs. Acme Arrives on Digital as Its Box Office Run Crosses $100 Million Worldwide

From Shelved Film to Digital Release
Warner Bros. finished Coyote vs. Acme in 2023 but shelved it as part of a wave of scrapped projects, before Ketchup Entertainment stepped in and paid roughly $50 million for worldwide distribution rights to a film that reportedly cost around $70 million to make. That gamble paid off when the film finally opened wide on August 28, 2026, and it’s now paying off again on digital, where it’s available to purchase for $24.99 or rent for $19.99 on Amazon Prime Video and Apple TV. A 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray release is expected to follow in November, though no date for a subscription streaming home like HBO Max has been announced yet.

A Box Office Turnaround
Coyote vs. Acme has climbed to roughly $58.6 million domestically and surpassed $100 million worldwide, a strong result for a film that Warner Bros. once wrote off entirely rather than release. Director Dave Green’s live action and animation hybrid, starring John Cena and Will Forte alongside Eric Bauza voicing the Looney Tunes cast, opened to an A CinemaScore from audiences, and that enthusiasm has carried through its full theatrical run.
Critics Are On Board Too
The reception from critics has been just as strong as the box office numbers. Coyote vs. Acme currently holds a 96 percent score on Rotten Tomatoes across 293 reviews, an unusually high mark for a family comedy built around a legacy cartoon property. Between the reviews and the audience turnout, the film’s rescue from Warner Bros.’ scrap pile looks like one of 2026’s better outcomes for a movie that almost never saw the light of day.
