Cyberpunk 2077 Is Coming to Battle.net, Geralt Joins Diablo IV, and Overwatch Gets a Cyberpunk: Edgerunners Crossover
At BlizzCon 2026’s “30 Years of Battle.net” panel on September 13, Blizzard Entertainment and CD Projekt Red announced a major expansion of their ongoing collaboration. Cyberpunk 2077 is coming to Battle.net and Overwatch is getting a Cyberpunk: Edgerunners crossover in 2027, while the Geralt of Rivia skin for Diablo IV, first teased back in August, finally got its full reveal.
Cyberpunk 2077 Finally Lands on Battle.net
Cyberpunk 2077, its Phantom Liberty expansion, and the bundled Ultimate Edition are launching on Battle.net later this year, joining other third party titles Blizzard has already brought to its launcher. An exact release date has not been confirmed yet.
Geralt Joins Diablo IV as a Barbarian, but Only Through Battle.net
The bigger surprise for Diablo IV players is a Geralt of Rivia themed Barbarian skin, tied to The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt’s Songs of the Past expansion. Anyone who pre purchases or buys Songs of the Past through Battle.net will unlock the skin, though CD Projekt Red has not shown its full in game design yet. Because the offer is Battle.net exclusive, Witcher 3 owners on Steam, Epic Games Store, GOG, or console will need a separate Battle.net purchase to claim it, a restriction that has already drawn some criticism from players. Songs of the Past itself is not out yet either, it is a paid expansion scheduled for 2027, so right now only pre purchasing gets players in line for the skin. Blizzard also confirmed additional Witcher themed content is planned for Diablo IV in 2027, with no further details shared yet.

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt Remastered Also Heads to Battle.net
The crossover ties directly into The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt Remastered, first revealed at Gamescom Opening Night Live back in August. The free upgrade for existing owners still launches September 29, 2026, on PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch 2, and now adds Battle.net as a new platform, with pre purchases open now.
Overwatch Is Getting a Cyberpunk: Edgerunners Crossover in 2027
Overwatch is set to receive Cyberpunk: Edgerunners and Edgerunners 2 themed content sometime in 2027. Blizzard has not confirmed which heroes will actually receive the cosmetics yet, despite plenty of fan speculation already circulating online, so any specific skin lineup floating around should be treated as fan concept art rather than fact for now. The timing also keeps the crossover separate from Edgerunners 2’s Netflix premiere on October 20, 2026.

A Partnership Three Decades in the Making
Blizzard and CD Projekt Red first teased this crossover in August, when the Witcher 3 Remastered Battle.net version and an early Geralt Diablo IV tease were announced around the same time as Gamescom Opening Night Live. BlizzCon’s opening ceremony already delivered a packed weekend of reveals across the entire Blizzard lineup, and this Battle.net anniversary panel added a second act built entirely around CD Projekt Red’s two biggest franchises. With both companies leaning heavily into 2027 for expanded Witcher and Cyberpunk content, this crossover looks like it is only just getting started.
