GTA Online Dropping the “A Safehouse in the Hills” DLC Bringing Mansions, Michael’s Return and a Surveillance Conspiracy on December 10

Los Santos just got a lot more expensive to live in.

Rockstar Games officially revealed GTA Online: A Safehouse in the Hills, the massive new DLC launching December 10 on PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One and PC.
And yes, after years of rumors, one of the most requested characters in the franchise is finally coming back.

Michael De Santa is Officially Returning

Buried in the new trailer and confirmed in the fine print: “the return of a familiar face.”
All signs point to Michael De Santa (yes, THAT Michael) stepping back into the criminal world of Los Santos. Whether he’s helping you fight a dystopian mass surveillance network or just showing up to roast your interior decorator choices, the prodigal movie producer turned FIB informant is back in the game.

Prix Luxury Real Estate – Your New Billionaire Playground

The centerpiece of the update is the ability to finally own a proper mansion in the Vinewood Hills through the fictional Prix Luxury Real Estate brand (complete with its own in-game website at prixluxuryrealestate.com).

These aren’t just big houses, they’re end-game flexes:

  • Sprawling estates with panoramic views of Los Santos
  • State of the art AI Assistant that actually boosts your business production
  • Trophy cabinets, private salons, animal kennels, artfully lit 10-50 car garages
  • Optional add-ons: Indoor car podium, full armory, vehicle workshop, private security detail

If you ever wanted to live like a Bond villain who made his money running coke and gunrunning empires, this is it.

New Story: Stopping a Mass Surveillance Network

The update includes a brand new action storyline where you and (presumably) Michael work to dismantle a creepy, city wide surveillance apparatus. Think Mr. Robot meets Heat, in Los Santos.

Cars, Drift Tuning, Missile Jammers and the Vapid FMJ MK V

Vapid FMJ MK V
  • Early access to the absurdly quick Vapid FMJ MK V supercar for GTA+ members (Rockstar claims it hits “0 to 60 off the back of nothing more than a light sneeze”)
  • More vehicles getting Missile Lock-On Jammers (including non-weaponized aircraft)
  • New Hao’s Special Works cars, drift variants, law enforcement vehicles
  • New Freemode events and quality-of-life upgrades

The Mission Creator is Here, For Everyone

One of the biggest surprises: a full-blown Mission Creator is coming to ALL platforms.
This isn’t a watered down version, Rockstar is giving players sophisticated tools to build, script, and publish their own missions with custom objectives, actors, and triggers.
Community guidelines have already been updated to keep things fair.

Last Chance for up to GTA$3,000,000 in Free Stuff

If you’re still on the fence, Rockstar is basically paying you to log in before the update drops:

  • Finish the three “New Listings” missions by December 7 → Gold Tier
→ GTA$2,000,000 discount on any Prix mansion
→ Black Rockstar Varsity Crewneck (drops Dec 10)
    → GTA$1,000,000 bonus
  • Just log in by December 7 → Black Tier rewards including a free Übermacht Revolter

See you in the Hills on December 10.

A Safehouse in the Hills feels like the true end-game update GTA Online players have begged for since 2013. Mansions you can actually be proud of, Michael De Santa’s long overdue return, a proper story against Big Brother surveillance and tools that let the community keep the game alive forever.

December 10 can’t come soon enough.

Mark your calendars, clear your schedule and maybe start saving, because when this drops, every other property in the game is about to look like a crack den.

See you in the Hills.
