Jack Lowden Is Officially Mr. Darcy in Netflix’s New Pride and Prejudice, Arriving December 3
Netflix has released the official trailer for its six part adaptation of Jane Austen’s Pride and Prejudice, confirming a December 3 premiere date and giving the clearest look yet at Jack Lowden’s take on Mr. Darcy opposite Emma Corrin’s Elizabeth Bennet. Billed as a faithful rendition of the 1813 novel, the series follows the pair as they grow from adversaries to lovers against the backdrop of 19th century English society.
A New Elizabeth and Darcy for a New Generation
The six part limited series is written and created by Dolly Alderton and directed by Euros Lyn, with Olivia Colman playing the fretful Mrs. Bennet and Rufus Sewell as her long suffering husband, Mr. Bennet. The trailer leans into the novel’s ballroom courtship and class tension, setting up Darcy’s famously frosty first impression of the Bennet family and the slow turn toward mutual respect that follows.

Jack Lowden’s Mr. Darcy and Emma Corrin’s Elizabeth Bennet share a loaded glance in the official Pride and Prejudice trailer.
Jack Lowden’s Biggest Year Yet
2026 has been a breakout stretch for Lowden. His Apple TV spy series Slow Horses just wrapped its sixth season alongside Gary Oldman, with Seasons 7 and 8 already locked in on a yearly cadence. He has also been reported as one of the finalists in the running to play James Bond in Denis Villeneuve’s upcoming 007 film, alongside Josh O’Connor and Callum Turner, though no casting decision has been confirmed. For now, Mr. Darcy is the literary icon on his plate.
Meet the Rest of the Bennet Family
Rounding out the Bennet sisters are Freya Mavor as Jane, Rhea Norwood as Lydia, Hopey Parish as Mary, and Hollie Avery as Kitty. The wider cast includes Jamie Demetriou as the obsequious Mr. Collins, Daryl McCormack as the amiable Mr. Bingley, Louis Partridge as the charming but untrustworthy Mr. Wickham, Siena Kelly as Caroline Bingley, and Fiona Shaw as the formidable Lady Catherine de Bourgh.

Emma Corrin stars as Elizabeth Bennet in Netflix’s new six part adaptation of Pride and Prejudice.
The series arrives just weeks after Netflix’s new adaptation of Austen’s Sense and Sensibility, making this a busy autumn for the author’s work on the platform. Pride and Prejudice premieres with all six episodes on December 3, only on Netflix.
