Slow Horses Season 7 Adds Guy Ritchie Alums as James Callis Returns to MI5
Slow Horses closes out its sixth season today, October 21, with the finale “Judgement Day,” and Apple TV is already looking ahead. The spy thriller has locked in a wave of new additions for Season 7, pulling in two actors straight out of Guy Ritchie’s stable of crime dramas alongside three more names joining Gary Oldman’s dysfunctional team of disgraced MI5 agents.
Guy Ritchie Regulars Join the Slough House Crew
Ethan Moorhouse and Joshua McGuire are the headline additions for Season 7, and both come fresh off collaborations with Guy Ritchie. Moorhouse appeared in Ritchie’s gangster series MobLand, on which Ritchie serves as executive producer, while McGuire starred in The Gentlemen, the crime series Ritchie created for Netflix. They’re joined by Varada Sethu, Tuppence Middleton, and Merab Ninidze, rounding out a significant cast expansion for Slough House’s next chapter. Character details for the newcomers haven’t been revealed yet.

Gary Oldman and Jack Lowden return as Jackson Lamb and River Cartwright for Slow Horses Season 7.
James Callis Returns as Claude Whelan
Alongside the new faces, James Callis is set to return as Claude Whelan, the former First Desk of MI5 who was pushed out of the role in an earlier season. Gary Oldman is back as Jackson Lamb, the brilliant but dishevelled spymaster at the center of the show, which follows a team of washed-up intelligence agents exiled to the titular Slough House after career-ending mistakes. Apple TV has already greenlit Slow Horses through at least two more seasons, so Season 7’s production is locked in even before the ink on Season 6 has dried.
A Rare Streaming Hit That Keeps Climbing
Based on Mick Herron’s series of espionage novels, Slow Horses premiered in 2022 and has managed something few prestige dramas pull off, six seasons in four years without a dip in quality. The show has never fallen under a 95% critic score on Rotten Tomatoes across its run, and Season 6 debuted to a Certified Fresh 100%, easing concerns that arose when longtime showrunner Will Smith stepped back after Season 5. Reviewing the new season, Collider’s Carly Lane wrote that Season 6 “ultimately represents the biggest turning point for Apple TV’s longest-running spy thriller.” With two more seasons already ordered, Slow Horses Season 7 is expected to arrive sometime in 2027.
