Uncharted, God of War III and Knack 2 Briefly Vanished From the PlayStation Store, and Sony Still Hasn’t Explained Why

Three of Sony’s own classics quietly disappeared from the PlayStation Store this week. Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection, God of War III Remastered, and Knack 2 all vanished from storefronts in North America and Mexico without warning, sparking a wave of confusion before most of them resurfaced hours later.

A Pricing Error, Not a Farewell

According to Kotaku, which first reported the removals, the games simply stopped showing up in search and on their own product pages, even though anyone who already owned them could still redownload their copies without issue. The likely culprit, per multiple reports including GamingBible and Adrenaline, was a pricing error: God of War III Remastered had reportedly been listed on Mexico’s PlayStation Store for roughly $0.50, an unusually generous discount that may have forced a temporary pull while Sony sorted out the mistake. The titles were unavailable for several hours before resurfacing at their usual sale prices, and as of this writing, Sony has not issued any public statement explaining what happened.

Bad Timing for Uncharted Fans Waiting on a Comeback

The scare landed at an awkward moment for Uncharted specifically. Gamersuniverse reported earlier this month that Naughty Dog is reportedly developing an all-new Uncharted game led by The Lost Legacy director Shaun Escayg, who has been spotted sharing location-scouting photos from Trinidad and Tobago online. None of the outlets covering the delisting have tied the two stories together, and Sony’s silence on both fronts means there is no confirmed link between a pricing glitch and a project still likely years from any announcement, but it is easy to see why fans briefly feared the worst when one of gaming’s most beloved trilogies vanished from the shelf.
