Jujutsu Kaisen Rumble: Survivaton Delayed to 2027, and It’s Made by the Vampire Survivors Studio

Jujutsu Kaisen Rumble: Survivaton isn’t launching this year after all. Shueisha Games and developer poncle, the studio behind Vampire Survivors, announced on September 14 that the anime “survivors royale” is being pushed from its 2026 window into 2027 on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC. No firm 2027 date has been set yet.

More Time for the Cursed Spirits

In a statement, Shueisha Games and poncle said they had been aiming for a 2026 launch but “decided to move the release to 2027” in order to deliver the best possible experience to players. The studios didn’t point to anything specific going wrong, framing it as a straightforward polish decision rather than a response to any particular setback.

What Is Jujutsu Kaisen Rumble: Survivaton?

Announced back in June, Survivaton is poncle’s first game since Vampire Survivors, built around what Shueisha Games calls a “survivors royale”: up to eight players compete online, or alone in a single-player mode, using the same auto-battler style Vampire Survivors popularized, where characters attack automatically and players focus purely on movement and positioning. Instead of hordes of undead, though, it’s cursed spirits and rival sorcerers pulled from Jujutsu Kaisen, with more than 20 playable characters unlocked through in-game conditions.

How a Match Actually Plays Out

Matches lean on Vampire Survivors style progression: players gain experience from downed enemies, level up mid-match, and pick from a growing pool of skills to build synergistic loadouts, a system the developers call Unite Build. Survive long enough and a “Rule Addition” mechanic kicks in at 100 points, rewriting match conditions to disrupt whoever’s still standing. Boss encounters raise the stakes further, and named Jujutsu Kaisen techniques like Domain Expansion and Black Flash show up as gauge based special moves that can swing an entire match. The last two players standing settle things in a final one on one duel.

Trailers Now, a Release Date Later

The delay announcement came with new trailers in English, Japanese, and Traditional Chinese rather than a new release date, and neither the official website nor Survivaton’s Steam page has been updated with anything more specific than “2027” so far. It’s a familiar pattern for poncle: Vampire Survivors itself grew well beyond its original scope after launch, and Shueisha Games appears willing to give this one the same runway before it reaches PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Switch 2, and PC.
