Rockstar Reveals the First Six Grand Theft Auto VI Radio Stations and the Series’ First Podcasts

Rockstar Games used an October 8 Newswire post to pull back the curtain on Grand Theft Auto VI’s in-game radio for the first time, previewing six of Leonida’s stations and confirming a feature the series has never had before: a series of on-demand podcasts. Rockstar describes the overall lineup as spanning everything from Classic Rock to Talk Radio, with these first six stations covering a much narrower slice of that range.

Six Stations, Six Different Vibes

Cocoteo FM leans into modern Latin music, from bachata and merengue to dembow and reggaeton, hosted by DJ duo El Martillo and La Gata. Back Country Radio broadcasts renegade country out to the Grassrivers and Port Gellhorn courtesy of hosts MW and Delta Dawne, plus recurring check-ins from roving reporter and self-described swamp meteorologist Mud Dog Mike. AfroBank FM, run by Burna and Palmsy, mixes twentieth-century African classics with contemporary styles like amapiano and 3-step, while The Chamber 106.6 gives Leonida’s metal scene a home courtesy of DJ Kerry and DJ Tom. Flash FM, the returning Vice City pop institution, is back in the hands of hosts Robyn and Alex, and Dirty South Classics rounds out the preview with DJs Trick and Trina spinning regional rap and hip hop classics.

Podcasts and Portable Radio Are New Series Firsts

For the first time in Grand Theft Auto history, players won’t need to be behind the wheel to hear Leonida’s airwaves. Jason and Lucia can listen to radio stations and a new slate of on-demand podcasts through headphones and earbuds connected to their smartphones, whether they’re driving or on foot. Rockstar calls the lineup “the biggest and widest-ranging selection of in-game radio yet,” though the studio hasn’t detailed what the podcasts will actually cover.

More Music Still to Come

The six stations are only a first look, and Rockstar says more details are coming on Grand Theft Auto VI’s dynamic score along with additional singles from Grand Theft Auto VI: The Album, which Rockstar has confirmed will run to 34 original tracks across a wide roster of artists. The album follows months of musicians teasing their involvement, and can now be pre-saved or pre-ordered on vinyl and CD ahead of release. Grand Theft Auto VI is set to launch this November on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S.
