Attack on Titan 3 Locks In a December Release Date, and the Nine Titans Are Finally Joining the Fight
Koei Tecmo used its Tokyo Game Show 2026 lineup to lock in a release date for Attack on Titan 3, the action game covering the entire Attack on Titan story from the Scout Regiment’s earliest battles to the series’ ending. The game launches December 10 on PS5, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC via Steam, and it’s bringing a handful of systems the series hasn’t tried before, including combat against the Nine Titans for the first time.
Editions and Pricing
The Standard Edition runs $69.99 (€69.99, £54.99) across all four platforms. The Digital Deluxe Edition costs $89.99 (€89.99, £69.99) and adds 72-hour early access on PS5, Xbox, and PC (Switch 2 buyers don’t get the head start), a digital art book, a Character Customization Pack with three costumes and seven creator parts, an Original Equipment Pack with 13 parts, and a Starter Item Pack. Physical platforms also get a SteelBook Launch Edition, bundling the base game with a reversible ICONART print and Wings of Freedom customization items.
Everyone who pre-orders gets a Wings of Freedom Hoodie for their character, and digital pre-orders add a matching pair of Wings of Freedom Earrings. Players with save data from Attack on Titan 2 or its Final Battle expansion get an extra in-game bonus, though Koei Tecmo hasn’t detailed exactly what it is yet.
New This Time: Exterior Scouting Missions and a Character Creator
For the first time in the series, you’re not playing as a named character from the source material. Attack on Titan 3 puts you in the Scout Regiment as your own custom soldier, built through a character creator covering outfits, hairstyles, accessories, and equipment loadouts, fighting alongside the franchise’s established cast rather than as one of them.
The biggest new system is Exterior Scouting Missions, sending a player-assembled squad beyond the walls to build supply bases, clear out Titans, and expand human territory, with each mission weighing the risk of losing soldiers against how far you push the expedition. Back at base, a new Regimental HQ hub lets you build relationships with the cast between missions. Koei Tecmo has also added a simplified control option for players who’d rather experience the story without mastering the full omnidirectional mobility gear controls.

A Scout Regiment soldier takes to the air with the omnidirectional mobility gear in Attack on Titan 3.
The Nine Titans Enter the Fight, and the Opening Movie Comes Later
The story spans the full Attack on Titan timeline, “from its beginning to its conclusion” according to Koei Tecmo, and reworks the series’ core mobility-based combat with new Titan behaviors and attack patterns to keep encounters from feeling routine. Notably, it’ll be the first Attack on Titan game to let players actually fight the Nine Titans in combat rather than just witness them in cutscenes. One thing you won’t get right away is the opening animation: Koei Tecmo confirmed the MAPPA-produced intro movie, again directed by Arifumi Imai, won’t be ready at launch and will arrive in a later update instead.
