BlizzCon 2026: Everything You Need to Know Before the Show Kicks Off This Weekend

BlizzCon is back for the first time since 2023, and it kicks off this weekend. On September 12 and 13, 2026, the Anaheim Convention Center in California will once again fill up with Warcraft cosplayers, Diablo lore hunters, and Overwatch esports fans as Blizzard throws its biggest community celebration in years. In-person passes sold out months ago, but you don’t need a ticket to see the news drop. Here’s everything you need to know before the Opening Ceremony kicks things off.

When and How to Watch

The show floor is open Saturday and Sunday, September 12–13, from 9 AM to 7 PM PDT, with early badge pickup and registration available the day before, Friday, September 11, from 1 PM to 9 PM PDT. The Opening Ceremony takes place Saturday, September 12, at 10:30 AM PDT in Hall D, with doors opening at 9 AM.

If you didn’t manage to snag one of the sold-out passes, Blizzard is livestreaming the entire show for free on YouTube (youtube.com/blizzard), Twitch (twitch.tv/blizzard), and Battle.net. Key panels and all esports matches will be streamed, though the on-site musical performances remain exclusive to attendees. Viewers who link their Battle.net account can also earn in-game viewership rewards, but only if they do so before September 18.

What’s on the Panel Schedule

Blizzard has confirmed seven stages spread across the show floor, including dedicated venues for World of Warcraft, Overwatch, and Hearthstone, plus a “Classic Cup Stage” for the tournament crowd. The exact minute-by-minute schedule only goes live on BlizzCon.com once the Opening Ceremony wraps, but Blizzard has already confirmed several headline panels:

• World of Warcraft: Archives and World of Warcraft Hardcore: What’s Next – Sunday panels covering the game’s history and the Hardcore mode’s roadmap
• A Diablo developer update panel
• A World of Warcraft worldbuilding panel and a “Villains of Blizzard” panel looking back at the company’s most memorable antagonists
• A “30 Years of Battle.net” retrospective panel, notably featuring a guest appearance from CD Projekt Red

Notice what’s missing from those WoW panel titles: neither mentions Classic by name, suggesting Blizzard is saving Classic-specific news for the Archives and Hardcore sessions instead. This year’s panels follow up on the reveals from Blizzard’s earlier 2026 Showcase series, where the studio confirmed the Midnight expansion, an Overwatch year-long story with ten new heroes, Hearthstone’s Cataclysm expansion, and Diablo II: Resurrected’s Reign of the Warlock update. Expect BlizzCon to build on all four with fresh details rather than starting from scratch.

Esports Takes Over the Weekend

Alongside the developer panels, BlizzCon 2026 is hosting finals for several of Blizzard’s biggest competitive circuits, including the Overwatch World Cup, the World of Warcraft Mythic Dungeon International, the World of Warcraft Arena World Championship, the Hearthstone Masters Tour World Championship, and the Blizzard Classic Cup. All of it is included in the free stream, so you can catch the trophies being handed out without setting foot in Anaheim.

What Might Get Announced (and What’s Just a Rumor)

Blizzard hasn’t confirmed any brand-new game reveals ahead of the show, and the “Villains of Blizzard” and “30 Years of Battle.net” panels read more like anniversary retrospectives than launch events. That said, eagle-eyed fans have spotted glitch-style effects and hidden messages on the official StarCraft website in the days leading up to the show, fueling speculation about a possible StarCraft-adjacent shooter project. Nothing has been confirmed by Blizzard, so treat it as rumor until (or unless) it shows up on stage.

Beyond the Panels

As always, BlizzCon isn’t just about the stage announcements.
