Dragon Ball: Sparking! ZERO’s New Roadmap Runs Through Summer 2027, Adding Cross-Play and Tower of Power
Bandai Namco used the New York Comic Con weekend to lay out where Dragon Ball: Sparking! ZERO is headed next, publishing a roadmap that stretches from this fall through summer 2027. Shared via the official Dragon Ball Games account as the fighting game nears its second anniversary, the plan splits new content into two separate schedules, one for PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC, and another for Switch and Switch 2, with the most requested addition, a cross-play beta test, arriving near the very end of that timeline.
Two Schedules, One Roadmap
The near-term additions kick off this fall with a Legendary Warrior Face-off event on each platform split, Gogeta (Super) for PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC, and Frieza (Super) for Switch and Switch 2. From there the two schedules diverge further, with PS5, Xbox, and PC players generally getting new modes and updates first, while Nintendo platforms pick up the same additions a season or two later.

Tower of Power Leads the New Content
The headline addition is Tower of Power, a new mode that pits players against increasingly tough opponents as they climb its floors, with clearing it rewarding a customization item for the Ki Charge Aura. A solo version arrives first as a free update for PS5, Xbox, and PC in winter 2026, followed by a team-up option in spring 2027 on the same platforms. Switch and Switch 2 owners get both versions later, alongside Mission 100 SP and Survival Mode SP, tougher takes on existing missions and battles built for characters trained through the Limit Breaker Journey.
Cross-Play Still Months Away
The cross-play beta test is currently slated for around summer 2027, and so far it’s only confirmed for PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. Bandai Namco hasn’t said whether Switch and Switch 2 will be part of that beta. The same window on PS5, Xbox, and PC also brings an as-yet-unannounced paid DLC character, while Switch and Switch 2 owners get first access to the previously revealed Super Limit-Breaking NEO DLC a season earlier, in spring 2027. Bandai Namco framed the roadmap as a sign that support for the game isn’t slowing down anytime soon, even two years after launch.
