Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man Season 2 Sets a January 2027 Release Date, and the Symbiote Is Coming for Peter
Marvel Animation confirmed a premiere date for Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man Season 2 during its New York Comic Con panel on Thursday, October 8, revealing that the show returns to Disney+ on January 13, 2027. Creator Jeff Trammell took the stage to give fans an exclusive look at what’s next for Hudson Thames’ Peter Parker, and the first new footage made one thing clear: this season belongs to the symbiote.
A More Experienced Spider-Man Meets the Symbiote
The newly revealed key art shows Peter’s familiar red-and-blue suit threaded through with black, web-like tendrils and a white spider emblem, looming shadow shapes spreading out behind him like a second set of limbs. It’s a visual Trammell set up directly on stage, describing how different Season 2 feels from the show’s first run. “In Season 1, we got to see Peter start out as Spider-Man,” he told the crowd, before teasing that Peter is past needing a mentor this time around and “sometimes that help comes in the form of inky black goo from space.”
Jeff Trammell previews Season 2 on the Empire Stage during Marvel’s NYCC 2026 panel.
Doctor Octopus, Rhino, and a Hell’s Kitchen Connection
Footage shown during the panel confirmed Doctor Octopus returns as a fully transformed villain, tentacles and all, while newly revealed artwork names Rhino among the season’s new threats for Peter to deal with. The season also pulls in another corner of the Marvel Television universe, with Charlie Cox set to reprise his role as Daredevil, giving Peter’s rogues gallery a tie to Hell’s Kitchen. Cox was at NYCC the same day for a separate first look at Daredevil: Born Again’s third and final season, alongside fellow Defenders Krysten Ritter and Finn Jones.
Season 1 of Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man is streaming now on Disney+ for anyone looking to catch up before Peter’s symbiote problem arrives on January 13.
