Nintendo Shares an Extended Look at Ganondorf in the Ocarina of Time Switch 2 Remake
Nintendo isn’t waiting until November to keep The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time in the spotlight. On September 25, the company published a new clip through its Nintendo Today! mobile app that hones in on Ganondorf, giving fans the clearest look yet at how the Switch 2 remake handles one of gaming’s most iconic villain introductions.
A New Look at Link’s Nightmare
The short video revisits the dream sequence that opens Ocarina of Time, where young Link first glimpses Ganondorf riding across Hyrule Field. Where the original Nintendo 64 release and its 3DS remaster played the moment out in real time, the new footage slows the camera down around Ganondorf’s approach, giving the scene a more deliberate, cinematic weight. A new narrator voiceover accompanies the shot, introducing Ganondorf as a member of the Gerudo, whose men are said to be “born only once in a hundred years,” and describing his ambition to claim the Triforce.

Old Versus New, Side by Side
Alongside the Ganondorf clip, Nintendo also shared comparison footage placing the remake next to direct capture of the original Nintendo 64 version and its Nintendo 3DS remaster, letting players see just how far the visual overhaul has come since 1998. It’s the latest drip of footage in the run-up to launch, following the full reveal at this month’s Legend of Zelda 40th Anniversary Direct, where Nintendo confirmed the remake’s November 5 release date, pricing, and a long list of gameplay changes, including a proper jump button and fully voiced cutscenes throughout.
The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time launches on Nintendo Switch 2 on November 5, priced at $59.99 digitally, with a $69.99 physical edition that includes a limited textured foil box art variant while supplies last.
