CD Projekt Red Is Still Patching The Witcher 3 Remastered, With a Bloom Fix Coming Next

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt Remastered launched on September 29, 2026, and CD Projekt Red has been patching it almost non-stop ever since. The studio has already shipped multiple hotfixes across PC, PS5, Xbox Series X|S and Nintendo Switch 2, and says more are on the way, including a long-requested fix for the remaster’s bloom effect.

What CD Projekt Red Has Already Fixed

The first wave of hotfixes focused on lighting, adjusting interiors on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S to better match the PC version, and fixing a bug that left DLSS unavailable in the Xbox Play Anywhere PC build. A follow-up PC patch addressed save and load errors tied to special characters in file paths, voiceover audio that could get stuck muted after opening the pause menu, NVIDIA HairWorks performance problems, a telemetry setting that wouldn’t stick, and GOG achievements that weren’t displaying correctly.

The Bloom Effect Is Next

Bloom has become one of the most common complaints since launch, with plenty of players turning the effect off entirely because they feel it makes the remaster look washed out compared to the original release. CD Projekt Red’s community team has confirmed a dedicated bloom adjustment is in development for a future update, though it hasn’t shared a timeline yet. Console players are also still waiting on a fix for dialogue audio that can drop in volume, another issue the studio says remains on its list.

Switch 2 Owners Will Wait the Longest

Nintendo Switch 2 players have their own issue to deal with, most notably blurry visuals in portable mode. Because any Switch 2 patch has to clear Nintendo’s certification process before it can go live, CD Projekt Red has indicated a fix could take a couple of weeks at minimum, even once it’s ready internally. In the meantime, the pace of the PC and console hotfixes shows the studio working through its post-launch bug list quickly rather than letting issues pile up.

More Patches on the Way

CD Projekt Red hasn’t said exactly how many more hotfixes Remastered will need, but the studio has reiterated that it’s still collecting player reports and working through them one by one. For a game that just broke its own decade-old concurrent player record on launch day, keeping the experience stable across five platforms is no small task.
