NBA 2K25 Is Being Delisted on October 30, Taking MyCareer and MyTeam With It

NBA 2K25 is heading toward the end of its road. 2K has confirmed the basketball sim will be delisted from digital storefronts on October 30, with its online services following it offline at the close of the year, a move that will permanently cut off two of the game’s most played modes.

The Shutdown Timeline

NBA 2K25 comes off sale on PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S on October 30. Anyone who already owns the game can keep playing past that date, but 2K’s online services for the title are scheduled to stay up only through December 31, meaning the servers go dark as the new year begins.

NBA 2K25 will come off digital storefronts on October 30, ahead of its online services shutting down at year’s end.

MyCareer and MyTeam Are Going Away

MyCareer and MyTeam are the two modes taking the hit. Both lean on a live connection to track Virtual Currency, unlock content, and sync progress, so once the servers shut off for good, neither mode will be playable in any form, solo or otherwise. 2K’s support page frames it as standard end-of-service housekeeping rather than anything specific to NBA 2K25, noting that once online services for a title end, any features tied to them stop working while the rest of the game can still be played offline.

What You’ll Still Be Able to Play

It’s not a total loss for anyone holding onto their copy. Play Now, MyNBA, The W, and MyWNBA are all built to run offline and will stay fully playable after the January cutoff, so exhibition games and franchise-style saves aren’t going anywhere. It’s only the online-dependent career and card-collecting modes that disappear.

The timing tracks with how 2K has wound down past entries in the series, including NBA 2K24’s own server shutdown roughly a year after its release. With NBA 2K27 already out and getting the publisher’s attention, NBA 2K25 sliding into legacy status was less a question of if than when.
