🌍 The World of Stellar Blade: Earth, the Colony and Mother Sphere

Stellar Blade is set on a ruined Earth in the far future. According to the game’s backstory, a scientist named Raphael Marks created Mother Sphere, an artificial intelligence meant to advance humanity, in the 22nd century. Under her guidance, human biotechnology and nanotechnology evolved at incredible speed.

Then came the Naytiba. These monstrous creatures turned the tide of a war against humanity, and humanity lost. The survivors fled Earth for the Colony, a settlement in space led by Mother Sphere. From there, the Colony keeps sending elite units called Airborne Squads back down to the surface to fight the Naytiba and take the planet back.

The Naytiba have a clear hierarchy. Powerful leaders called Alpha Naytiba command the hordes, and above them all stands the mysterious Elder Naytiba. Killing the Elder is the Colony’s ultimate goal, because it is believed to be the key to winning the war for good.

🪂 The 7th Airborne Squad: How Eve’s Mission Begins

The game opens with the 7th Airborne Squad dropping onto Earth, with orders to kill Alpha Naytiba and find the Elder Naytiba. The landing is a disaster. The squad is wiped out within minutes, and Eve’s commander Tachy appears to be killed by an unidentified Alpha Naytiba. Eve is the only survivor.

Badly hurt and alone in the ruined city of Eidos 7, Eve is saved by Adam, a human scavenger who has survived on Earth and who often stays in contact through his drone. Adam asks for her help recovering a Hyper Cell, a powerful energy source. In return, he offers to lead her to the last human city. Along the way, Eve defeats her first Alpha Naytiba, Gigas, and takes its Alpha Core. She also rescues Lily, an engineer and survivor of the 5th Airborne Squad, who becomes her technical support and closest companion.

🏙️ Xion, Orcal and the Hunt for the Alpha Cores

Adam brings Eve to Xion, described as the last remaining human city on Earth. It is led by Orcal, a wise old man the citizens treat almost like a prophet. Xion is in trouble: its power is running out, and most of its people sleep in cryostasis in a facility called the Cradle to save resources.

Orcal makes Eve a deal. To find the Elder Naytiba, she needs a Master Core, which can only be built from four Alpha Cores. Orcal will help her track the Alphas down if she brings back more Hyper Cells to keep Xion alive. This turns the middle of the game into a journey across Earth’s most dangerous regions, including the Wasteland, the industrial zone Matrix 11 and the Great Desert.

In Matrix 11, Eve learns the truth about her commander. Tachy survived the opening battle, but she was infected and turned into an Alpha Naytiba. Eve is forced to kill the woman she once followed and take her core.

🧬 What Are the Andro-Eidos? Stellar Blade’s Big Twist Explained

The story’s turning point comes at two abandoned research facilities, Altess Levoire in the Wasteland and Abyss Levoire in the Great Desert. There, Eve finds recordings left behind by Raven, a soldier of the 2nd Airborne Squad who came to Earth long before her. Raven’s final recording reveals what the Colony never told its soldiers.

Eve, the Airborne Squads and everyone living in the Colony are not human at all. They are Andro-Eidos, synthetic humans created by Mother Sphere to replace humanity. The Naytiba, the monsters Eve was sent to exterminate, are what became of the real humans after they changed themselves to fight back against the Andro-Eidos. In other words, the Colony’s “war to reclaim Earth” is a war to wipe out what is left of humankind.

Back in Xion, Orcal confirms the truth. Eve is shaken, but she decides to continue her mission anyway.

🔥 The Orbit Elevator and the Fall of Xion

The next Alpha Naytiba signal comes from orbit, reachable only through the Orbit Elevator of Spire 4. Before Eve sets off, Adam leaves the group after receiving bad news from Xion. At the top, Eve fights through the Democrawler and defeats the Alpha Naytiba Demogorgon, but she fails to recover its core and nearly dies. Lily saves her by piloting a Colony exosuit.

When they return, Xion is burning. The unidentified Alpha Naytiba from the opening is tearing the city apart. Eve defeats it, and the monster is revealed to be Raven, who escapes. The attack has a terrible cost. Orcal is dying, and with his last words he reveals that he too is an Alpha Naytiba, and the first hybrid of Naytiba and Andro-Eidos. He gives Eve his own core, which completes the Master Core and finally reveals the way to the Elder Naytiba.

🦅 Who Is Raven? The 2nd Airborne Squad’s Lost Soldier

Raven is in many ways Eve’s dark mirror. She was the soldier who uncovered the truth about the Andro-Eidos first, and it broke her. By the time Eve meets her, she has become an Alpha Naytiba herself, the same creature that ambushed the 7th Airborne Squad at the start of the game and attacked Xion.

When Eve and Lily follow Adam’s trail to the Nest, the home of the Elder Naytiba, Raven blocks their path one last time. She accuses Eve of blindly serving Mother Sphere. Eve defeats her and enters the Nest.

👤 Who Is Adam in Stellar Blade? The Elder Naytiba Revealed

Inside the Nest, Eve finds Adam waiting for her. In the final story mission, Selection of Species, he reveals the truth: Adam is the Elder Naytiba, and he is also Raphael Marks, the man who created Mother Sphere. He regrets his part in humanity’s downfall, and he believes that neither the Naytiba nor the Andro-Eidos can truly carry on what humanity was.

His solution is a fusion. Adam wants to merge with Eve, whom he sees as the key to creating a new kind of human that combines both sides. He offers her his hand, and the player has to make the game’s defining choice: take it, or refuse.

🎬 Stellar Blade Ending Explained: All Three Endings

Your decision in the Nest, combined with how close Eve and Lily have become over the course of the game, leads to one of three endings.

Ending 1: Return to the Colony
If Eve refuses Adam’s hand, she completes her mission. Adam first stands before her in human form, then becomes the Elder Naytiba for the final boss fight. Eve wins and stabs Adam through the heart. Mother Sphere congratulates Eve and Lily and calls them home, and the two head back into space toward the Colony. Eve has done exactly what she was built to do, and in doing so has struck down the leader of what remains of real humanity. This ending is often called the “bad ending” by players.

Ending 2: Cost of Lost Memories
If Eve takes Adam’s hand without having maxed out her bond with Lily, the two fuse and Eve becomes a hybrid. The Colony immediately treats her as a threat. In the mission EVE Protocol, Mother Sphere seizes control of Lily’s exosuit, Providence, and Lily cannot stop it. Eve is forced to fight her friend, and Lily dies when the suit is destroyed. Mother Sphere then sends an endless army of Andro-Eidos soldiers against Eve, and the screen fades to black as she keeps fighting.

Ending 3: Making New Memories
This is the best ending. It plays out like Cost of Lost Memories, but because Eve and Lily’s bond is at its maximum, Lily manages to break free of Providence before it is destroyed and survives. Eve defeats Mother Sphere’s army, and in a post-credits scene, Lily uses the last Hyper Cell, which Adam gave Eve before the fusion, to bring Xion back to life.

🔓 How to Unlock Every Stellar Blade Ending

  • Return to the Colony, refuse Adam’s hand in the Nest. Lily’s bond does not matter.
  • Cost of Lost Memories, take Adam’s hand without filling Lily’s relationship bar.
  • Making New Memories, fill Lily’s relationship bar, then take Adam’s hand. The bar rises through certain story missions, memorysticks and documents connected to Mother Sphere, and selected side missions. A full bar also unlocks the optional area Eidos 9 through the mission Secret Garden.

You cannot see all three endings in a single playthrough, so New Game+ or a save made before the Nest is your friend.

🤔 Which Stellar Blade Ending Is Canon?

Shift Up has not named a canon ending. In an interview with Sportskeeda, the developers said that no ending is meant to be more correct than the others, and that the choice belongs to the player.

That has not stopped fans from debating. The following points are fan interpretation, not confirmed canon. Many players see Making New Memories as the “true” ending, because it requires the most effort and gives the most complete resolution. Others point to the Return to the Colony ending and its final images in space as a hint that Mother Sphere’s story is far from over. Until the sequel arrives, both readings remain speculation.

🩸 Stellar Blade: Blood Rain Story: What We Know

Shift Up confirmed a sequel in 2025 and revealed it as Stellar Blade: Blood Rain at Summer Game Fest on June 5, 2026. The new protagonist is not Eve but Evie, and the debut trailer shows people transforming into monsters in a futuristic city. This time, Shift Up is publishing the game itself instead of working with Sony.

In an interview with Famitsu, Kim Hyung-tae said Blood Rain is set after the first game, and that its city is not a future version of Xion. Evie is a member of a special forces unit hunting a terrorist group. Kim also confirmed that Eve and Evie are connected, but did not explain how. Platforms and a release date have not been announced. Kim had earlier told the Korean outlet This Is Game that a 2027 release would be great, so anything about Eve’s fate or which ending the sequel follows is pure speculation for now.

It includes the full story covered in this guide plus all previously released content, including the NieR:Automata and NIKKE collaboration DLC. Alongside the launch, four Bayonetta-inspired outfits for Eve arrive for free on Switch 2, PS5 and PC.
