The Beekeeper 2 First Trailer Is Here, and Jason Statham’s Adam Clay Is Headed for Theaters on January 15, 2027
Jason Statham is back in the hive. Amazon MGM released the first official trailer for The Beekeeper 2 on October 15, following a pair of posters that dropped the day before. The sequel to 2024’s surprise action hit arrives in theaters on January 15, 2027, with Statham reprising his role as Adam Clay, the former “Beekeeper” operative who became a vigilante after a phone scam drove someone close to him to suicide.
A New Director Takes Over the Hive
The first Beekeeper was directed by David Ayer, but he didn’t return for the sequel, staying busy instead with Brad Pitt’s survival thriller Heart of the Beast. Taking over behind the camera is Indonesian filmmaker Timo Tjahjanto, who recently worked with Bob Odenkirk on Nobody 2 and has since been tapped to direct Simu Liu’s Sleeping Dogs adaptation. Kurt Wimmer, who created the Beekeeper characters and wrote the original film, returns to pen the screenplay alongside Zak Penn, and also produces together with Statham and Chris Long. David Ayer stays attached as an executive producer.

The official poster leans into the film’s title with a swarm of bees framing Statham’s Adam Clay.
What The Beekeeper 2 Is About, and Who’s In It
The sequel pulls Clay back into action after the secretive Beekeeper organization that trained him goes rogue, turning on its own former operatives as it makes a play for power. Jeremy Irons returns as Wallace Westwyld, the organization’s enigmatic handler from the first film, while Emmy Raver-Lampman is also back as FBI Agent Verona Parker. The cast adds several newcomers to the franchise: Pom Klementieff, best known as Mantis in the Guardians of the Galaxy movies, and Adam Copeland, the former WWE star known as Edge who also plays Ares in Percy Jackson and the Olympians, join alongside Bobby Naderi, Jemma Redgrave, and Yara Shahidi.
The Beekeeper 2 arrives after a busy 2026 for Statham, who already headlined Shelter and Mutiny this year. Neither made much noise at the box office, but both have since become streaming hits on their respective platforms, a solid runway into the sequel’s January release.
