The Gentlemen Season 3 Cast Confirmed: Orlando Bloom and Elijah Wood Lead Netflix’s New Additions

Guy Ritchie’s Netflix crime drama is expanding its world again. Netflix has officially confirmed that The Gentlemen Season 3 has begun production, with filming now underway in the United Kingdom and Morocco, and the streamer paired the news with a sprawling cast announcement that reshuffles much of the Horniman-Glass empire.

A Lord of the Rings Reunion Headlines the New Additions

The biggest surprise in the announcement is a Middle-earth reunion more than two decades in the making, with Orlando Bloom and Elijah Wood, who shared the screen as Legolas and Frodo Baggins in the Lord of the Rings trilogy, both joining the Season 3 cast. They’re joined by Robert Carlyle (Trainspotting), Dexter Fletcher (Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels), Bruna Marquezine (Blue Beetle), Ed Speleers (Outlander), Saffron Burrows (You) and Bugzy Malone, who previously appeared in Ritchie’s 2019 Gentlemen film.

Who’s Back, Who’s Out, and No Meghan Markle

Theo James and Kaya Scodelario remain the anchors of the show, returning as Eddie and Susie, and they’ll be rejoined by Ray Winstone, Joely Richardson, Vinnie Jones, Jasmine Blackborow, Harry Goodwins, Benjamin Clementine and Maya Jama reprising their roles from the first two seasons. Not everyone is sticking around, though: Daniel Ings, who played Eddie’s drug-addicted brother Freddy, and Giancarlo Esposito, who played the American billionaire Stanley Johnston, are both exiting the series. Netflix’s announcement also makes no mention of Meghan Markle, who had reportedly been in early talks for a role before those conversations quietly fell apart.

Where the Story Goes Next

Season 3 is expected to follow Eddie and Susie as they attempt their most ambitious project yet, building a casino in the Middle East, while the consequences of expanding the family business across international borders start catching up with them. Guy Ritchie, who created the series, celebrated the start of production, saying, “A third season felt inevitable.” It’s a quick turnaround for the franchise, with Season 3 entering production only weeks after Season 2 wrapped its run on Netflix. Two of The Gentlemen’s own alumni already made the jump elsewhere this month, with Ethan Moorhouse and Joshua McGuire joining Apple TV’s Slow Horses for Season 7. The Gentlemen Seasons 1 and 2 are streaming now on Netflix, with a Season 3 premiere date still to be announced.
