Dragon’s Dogma 2: Dark Arisen Gets a New Bug-Fix Update, Switch 2 Patch Still in the Works
Capcom has released a new title update for Dragon’s Dogma 2: Dark Arisen on PlayStation 5 Pro, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Steam, addressing dozens of bugs across vocations, enemies, pawns, and NPCs. The Nintendo Switch 2 version has not received the patch yet. Capcom confirmed that a separate update for Switch 2 is still in development, with no release window announced so far.
What the New Update Fixes
The patch notes cover a wide spread of smaller issues rather than one headline change. On the vocation side, canceling Warrior’s Goring Lunge no longer triggers an unwanted follow-up attack, Magick Archer’s lock-on now works as intended, and Mystic Spearhand’s Mirour Vesture effect properly triggers between the Arisen and Sigurd. Enemy fixes include skeletons whose eyes now glow correctly and chimeras that no longer trap players indefinitely in their grab.
- Pawns: Fewer instances of pawns being launched into the air, looking in unnatural directions, or falling off cliffs, and pawns now sheathe their weapons after battles end.
- NPCs: Norgan NPCs now correctly appear in the mortuary after dying, fixing characters who died before the Dark Arisen update from being misplaced.
- UI and settings: Several control-mapping bugs are fixed, including settings resetting after a restart and an incorrect “Equip?” prompt appearing after appraisal rewards.
- Steam only: Typing the “<” character in text fields no longer makes text disappear or breaks cursor movement.

Many of the fixes target the pawns who follow the Arisen into every fight.
Why the Switch 2 Version Is Still Waiting
Dragon’s Dogma 2: Dark Arisen launched on Switch 2 on October 9 as a bundle with the base game, while PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and Steam players bought the expansion separately for an already-owned copy. That shared launch window makes the current gap notable, since every other platform has now had two updates since Dark Arisen’s release while Switch 2 has had none. Some players have reported the game freezing after waking from sleep mode on Switch 2, though Capcom has not linked that issue to the upcoming patch specifically.

Switch 2 owners are still exploring Vermund and Battahl on the version Capcom shipped at launch.
For now, Switch 2 players will have to wait for Capcom to catch their version up with everyone else.
