Marvel Reveals Zodiac, the Spy-Thriller Series Rumored to Replace Daredevil: Born Again, Set for Disney+ in 2028
Marvel Television officially revealed its next live-action series on Thursday at the Marvel Television and Marvel Animation panel during New York Comic Con 2026. Titled Zodiac, the project was unveiled with a logo by Brad Winderbaum, Marvel’s Head of Television, Animation, Comics & Franchise, who kept the plot under wraps but confirmed the genre outright: “It’s a spy thriller.” The series is set to begin filming in London in spring 2027 ahead of a 2028 premiere on Disney+.
From Working Title to Official Reveal
Zodiac isn’t a total surprise to anyone who’s been tracking Marvel Television’s lineup. Back in September, reports tied to the news that Daredevil: Born Again would end after Season 3 named a then-unconfirmed spy-thriller project under the working title Zodiac as one of the shows Marvel had moving through its pipeline. Thursday’s panel turned that rumor into an official announcement, complete with a title, a logo, and a production timeline, though Marvel still hasn’t confirmed whether the show is meant to directly fill the street-level gap Born Again leaves behind.

What We Know, and What’s Still a Secret
Beyond the spy-thriller label, Marvel is keeping Zodiac close to the chest. No cast, showrunner, or plot details have been announced, and Winderbaum said casting would begin within a couple of weeks of the panel, with more names expected to surface over the following months. That also means London will see production get underway before most of the show’s creative details become public.
Hidden Clues in the Logo
Winderbaum hinted the title design itself holds hints for comic readers, and outlets poring over the logo have pointed to two details: a S.H.I.E.L.D. emblem tucked inside the “A,” and a twelve-piece wheel inside the “O” with three pieces missing. Comic fans have connected the gaps to Scorpio (Jake Fury), Virgo (Il Professore), and Aries (Leonardo da Vinci), members of the Great Wheel, a secret spymaster group from Jonathan Hickman’s Secret Warriors and S.H.I.E.L.D. comics that mirrors the twelve-leader Zodiac cartel introduced in 1969’s Avengers #72. None of this has been confirmed by Marvel itself, so it’s worth treating as an informed read of the artwork rather than a confirmed plot detail.

The same panel that introduced Zodiac also confirmed Daredevil: Born Again’s already-announced final season is targeting a 2027 premiere, with Charlie Cox, Krysten Ritter, and Finn Jones on hand to show new footage. VisionQuest, the show Gamersuniverse covered ahead of its October 14 premiere, closed out the panel with a first-episode screening. Whether Zodiac ends up connected to any of these shows remains unconfirmed, but its reveal gives Marvel’s post-Daredevil Disney+ slate its first real shape.
