Reacher Renewed for Season 6 at Prime Video Before Season 5 Even Premieres, as Season 4 Tops 66 Million Viewers
Prime Video has renewed Reacher for a sixth season, the streamer announced on September 28, making it the show’s earliest renewal yet since Season 5 is still in production. The pickup comes right on the heels of Season 4’s finale on September 16, an eight-episode run based on Lee Child’s novel Gone Tomorrow that pulled in over 66 million global viewers in its first 28 days, ranking among the top 5 most-watched seasons of any Prime Video original series.
Season 5 Sends Reacher to Mother’s Rest
Season 5 is currently filming in Toronto and adapts Make Me, the 20th book in Lee Child’s Jack Reacher series, which finds Reacher stepping off a train in the mysterious town of Mother’s Rest to look into a missing person, only to uncover a much larger conspiracy. New cast additions include Amanda Ip as Michelle Chang, Jay Baruchel as Chief Buck Bauer, Ciara Bravo as Eunice, and Kevin Durand as Nokes, joining Alan Ritchson for a season expected to premiere on Prime Video in late 2027. Season 6 itself isn’t likely to arrive before 2028, giving Season 5 room to land first.

Amazon Isn’t Slowing Down on Its Biggest Action Bet
Peter Friedlander, Amazon MGM Studios’ head of global television, said “Alan Ritchson is Jack Reacher,” crediting the actor with a performance that has kept audiences coming back season after season. Showrunner Nick Santora continues to lead the series for Paramount Television Studios and Amazon MGM Studios, which has now seen Reacher cross more than 200 million viewers worldwide since its 2022 debut. The franchise also expanded into spinoff territory this year with Neagley, which premiered the same day as the Season 4 finale to strong reviews, though a second season for the spinoff hasn’t been greenlit yet.
