Control Resonant Becomes Remedy’s Fastest-Selling Game Ever as Q3 Revenue Triples
Remedy Entertainment has published its third-quarter financial results, and the numbers make clear just how big a moment Control Resonant has become for the Finnish studio. Revenue more than tripled compared to the same period last year, driven almost entirely by a launch that turned into the fastest-selling game in Remedy’s history.
A Revenue Jump Three Times Over
Remedy’s third-quarter revenue climbed to €39.6 million ($44.3 million), up from €12.2 million ($13.7 million) in the same quarter last year. Only the first seven days of Control Resonant’s sales were actually counted within that reporting period, which makes the jump even more striking. The game’s operating profit margin, however, stayed thin at just 1.5% of revenue, or €0.6 million, as marketing spend around the launch ate into the bottom line.

Control Resonant’s launch week alone was enough to triple Remedy’s quarterly revenue.
A Million Copies, and a New Audience
On October 15, Control Resonant passed one million copies sold, making it the fastest-selling release in Remedy’s history. Remedy CEO Jean-Charles Gaudechon, who took the role earlier this year, called it a defining milestone for the studio, noting that it marks the first time Remedy has self-published a game of this scale built entirely on its own IP. He also pointed out that close to half of Resonant’s players had never touched a Control game before, which the studio sees as proof the sequel managed to pull in a genuinely new audience rather than just serving longtime fans.

Remedy says close to 50% of Resonant’s players were newcomers to the Control series.
Turning the Page on FBC Firebreak
The turnaround stands in sharp contrast to where Remedy was a year ago. Back in November 2025, the studio posted an operating loss of €16.4 million following the commercial flop of FBC Firebreak, a stumble Gamersuniverse covered at the time alongside Control Resonant’s own rocky day-one patch. Remedy says around 2.4 million wishlists for the game still haven’t converted into purchases, which it’s treating as a long-term opportunity rather than a concern. “This is our first self-published game of this scale, built on our own Control IP,” Gaudechon said, adding that the studio plans to keep investing in Resonant’s marketing “with discipline, prioritizing actions with a clear return” as it looks to carry the momentum through the rest of its 2026 financial year.
